Artisan bakery chain steps up UK roll-out

French artisan bakery and pâtisserie, PAUL, will open its 32nd shop in Newbury next month as part of an overall brand roll-out it is embarking on this year.

The company is planning a further five openings in 2015 as it steps up its presence in the UK market.

The 182 square metre site in Newbury’s Parkway Shopping Centre is the group’s second regional opening outside of London, following the launch of its Oxford bakery in December. It will create 12 new jobs when it opens in March.

Jean-Michel Orieux, chief executive of PAUL UK, said: “This is a very exciting time for PAUL and we hope that our arrival in Newbury will be a great addition to the busy shopping centre which welcomes thousands of visitors each year. We look forward to welcoming locals and tourists alike to enjoy our exclusive range of French classics, traditional, hand-crafted bakery and fine pâtisserie products.”

Open morning through to early evening, the 32-cover bakery and café will offer hot breakfast and brunch dishes including classics from its menu such as Oeufs Royale and Les Criques de Gramat.

PAUL’s signature range of breads and famous selection of pâtisserie, viennoiserie, gourmet salads and sandwiches will be available to buy in the shop or take-away, alongside freshly-brewed coffee and a range of hot seasonal products including soups, croques and pizzas.
