Bill’s gears up for third Kent restaurant project

National restaurant chain Bill’s has plans to open its third outlet in Kent.

The group, which currently operates over 60 sites, has applied to convert the former Mappin and Webb jewellers shop in Canterbury’s Whitefriars shopping centre.

If successful, Bill’s would occupy both ground and first floors of the city centre unit.

An official application for the 150-seat restaurant in Rose Lane has been submitted to the city council on behalf of Whitefriars Shopping Centre by agent Barton Willmore.

Speaking to Kent online, Mark Harris, of Barton Willmore, said: “This would represent a new attraction to the city centre.

“The introduction of a new national restaurant operator to the city centre will further improve the catering offer, contributing to its diversity and providing further draws for visitors and shoppers.”

The proposed restaurant will open its doors from 8am to midnight from Monday to Saturday and 9am to 11pm on Sunday.

Bill’s already operates restaurants in Maidstone and at Bluewater shopping centre.
