Burger & Lobster is preparing to open its first venture in the south west after signing an agreement for a site in Bath.
The move will bring its UK store count to nine, but more significantly it will give the company further presence outside of London. The chain operates seven stores in the capital but is keen to expand geographically.
It also has a restaurant in Cardiff, while the Bath store — understood to be launched in September — will be followed by a restaurant in Manchester later this year.
The Bath restaurant store is part of the Milsom Place development, consisting of fashion and gift retailers. Other foodservice names with a presence there include Carluccio’s and Jamie’s Italian.
Burger & Lobster was born out of the Goodman steakhouse chain, with the idea of keeping the menu simple. The chain sources corn-fed steak from Nebraska, where it believes the beef is the most flavoursome, while lobster is flown in alive and well from Canada.
