Café-bakery chain breaks with tradition as it expands to Durham

Muffin Break

Foodservice chain Muffin Break has broken from tradition by opening the doors to its first ever café-bakery within a retail park.

The brand operates 53 café-bakeries across the UK but up to now these have all been situated in shopping centres. The launch of a 1,500 square foot outlet in Arnison Shopping Park at Durham makes its first foray into a retail park location.

The stores offer a wide range of breakfast, lunch and snack options all prepared freshly on site, as well as fresh coffee. The kitchen has been designed to serve up to 80 covers.

Franchisee, Rahim Hinkin, said: “There is a fantastic mix of “high street” retailers at the Arnison Shopping Park, and we are excited about our new venture in to retail parks. We are looking forward to providing Arnison shoppers something a little different for breakfast, lunch or snacking whilst shopping at the park.”

Muffin Break is part of a growing series of franchisee-owned cafés, with a wide menu of fresh food options made on site daily.

Originating in Australia, there are more than 250 Muffin Break locations worldwide.
