Meiko is aiming to get operators animated about its commercial warewashing products – by creating two cartoon-style characters to spearhead its forthcoming promotional campaigns.
The company has conceived ‘Eric’ (which it says stands for Efficient, Reliable, Innovative and Clean) to champion its UPster U500 range and ‘Buster’ to accompany the UPster H500 pass-through model.
New UK managing director Paul Anderson hopes the light-hearted approach will help spread the Meiko message to a new generation of customers in the hotel, restaurant and casual dining industries.
“In all seriousness, the next few months will see a new, fresh and bright approach to Meiko’s advertising to illustrate the changing market,” he explained. “We also have an exciting product due out later this year and you will see a change in the image we are portraying.”
The UPster 500 glasswasher and dishwasher, which is also available with integral softener, washes up to 30 baskets an hour.
Its self-cleaning mode makes life easier, and the ‘soft start’ function is gentler on glasses and dishes. It has fully electronic MIKE 1 control with wireless infrared technology and the original Meiko eco filter system.
The UPster H500 pass-through, meanwhile, is all about energy-saving and safety. It is designed to deal with larger items like big plates, serving dishes and trays.
The UPster H500 pass through dishwasher is available with integral softener and vapour condensate hood. It can wash up to 40 baskets an hour using just three litres of water consumption per basket.
