Catering equipment buyers offered ‘Black Friday’ discounts of up to 70%

Retail stores display "Black Friday" advertisements and banners on Oxford Street in central London, as the annual retail event takes place on November 27, 2015. Foodservice operators were today being offered the chance to get their hands on new catering equipment at discounted prices after a host of suppliers unveiled special ‘Black Friday’ deals.

Black Friday has become a prime selling event for the high street as retailers slash prices on a range of consumer goods, but the trend has found its way into the commercial market place, too.

Restaurants and pubs looking for replacement kit and one-off purchases will have found there are no shortage of special offers today as online sellers in particular have slashed prices by as much as 70%.

At CaterKwik, for example, a selection of graded and unused catering equipment is on offer for up to 40% off its usual selling price with a special code that works up until 8pm tonight. The company is also offering 20% off reconditioned units, not including combination ovens.

CS Catering Equipment earlier tweeted its involvement in Black Friday, promoting a deal that slashes 50% off the price of a Blue Seal G91B salamander grill.

Nisbets, meanwhile, is offering up to 70% off a host of items as part of a Black Friday sale that actually runs for the entire weekend. A KitchenAid mixer has been reduced from £339 to £299, while Samsung microwaves are down from £239 to £199. Operators can also pick up bargains on a range of its own-label Buffalo and Polar kit.

Not everybody has entered into the Black Friday pricing cull, however.

Alliance Online noted that it has declined to slash prices as it “provides value for money on catering equipment all year round”.
