Warewashing technical expert, Derek Maher, has been appointed as one of the board directors for catering industry association CEDA.
Maher’s expertise spans over 36 years in the commercial catering and pub industry where he is widely regarded as a leading expert on achieving optimum clean glass results.
The managing director of Crystaltech has been a leading figurehead in the effort to attain superior glass and dishwasher machine results, which have aimed to save operators valuable time and money.
In addition to working in all areas of the catering industry, Maher carries out consultancy work with independent pub auditor Cask Marque, as well as helping pub groups, Fullers, Greene King, Stonegate and McMullen’s, to achieve clean glass results across their estates.
CEDA chairman Kevin Davis commented: “The new appointments to CEDA’s board come at a time when the association is delivering on its 22 for 2022 strategic vision, launched in April, to make it the focal point for foodservice equipment operators who need design, equipment, installation and service for their operations.”
Davis hopes that Maher’s expertise in technical advice and service support will give CEDA an edge in technical areas, which he regards as becoming ever more important.
Commenting on his appointment, Maher said: “It is an honour to be invited to join the board and I am, indeed, looking forward to being able to contribute to CEDA and help its members in every way that I can.”
