Commercial Kitchen backs launch of FEJ Awards with Supporting Partner status

Foodservice Equipment Journal is delighted to officially announce that Commercial Kitchen is the Supporting Partner of the inaugural 2018 FEJ Awards.

Now in its third year, Commercial Kitchen has quickly established itself as the must-attend trade event for buyers and specifiers of professional kitchen equipment in the foodservice sector.

Around 2,000 high-level buyers from restaurant chains, pubs, hotels, education providers and professional caterers attended the most recent show, with one in four responsible for annual corporate spend of more than £1m.

The FEJ Awards take place on the first night of the 2018 Commercial Kitchen show, Tuesday 5 June. Suppliers and operators attending the event at the NEC during the day will only need to make the short walk across to the Birmingham Hilton Metropole for a night of networking, socialising and celebrating.

The evening will start at 7.30pm with a champagne reception followed by a three-course dinner and the presentation of awards to the country’s leading foodservice operators and equipment suppliers.

Katie Tyler, event manager at Commercial Kitchen, said: “We have always enjoyed working with Foodservice Equipment Journal as part of our media partnership. We’re excited to now be the Supporting Partner of the inaugural 2018 FEJ Awards celebrating this dynamic industry. Like Commercial Kitchen, these much-needed new awards are completely dedicated to the industry and focused on celebrating the innovation within it. This year will see our biggest and best show yet and the launch of the FEJ Awards will allow for even greater networking for buyers and exhibitors alike after day one of the show.”

Andrew Seymour, editorial director of FEJ, commented: “As the only UK trade show that is solely dedicated to the operation of effective, efficient and profitable kitchens, we are excited that Commercial Kitchen has chosen to become the Supporting Partner of the FEJ Awards. Commercial Kitchen’s ethos of promoting kitchen best practice and bringing together the supplier and user sides of the industry very much chimes with FEJ’s own principles of connecting the industry through our print publications and daily online news service.

“The calibre of suppliers and buyers that have attended Commercial Kitchen since its launch is hugely impressive and reflects the importance of product innovation and kitchen design in the market place today. We are delighted to be hosting the FEJ Awards on the first night of the show and look forward to honouring the champions of the industry. After a busy day doing business at the exhibition, it will be a perfect opportunity for suppliers and buyers to sit back, relax and enjoy a fantastic evening.”

Category shortlists for the FEJ Awards will be voted on by the industry, with operators voting on suppliers, and suppliers voting on operators, to determine the winners. Full details of the nomination process and how to enter will be published shortly.
