Commercial Kitchen, the UK trade show for catering equipment buyers and suppliers, is in the running for two highly coveted exhibition awards, it can be revealed.
With just over three weeks to go until the doors open for its second edition, Commercial Kitchen has been shortlisted for ‘Best Trade Launch Show’ and ‘Best Tradeshow under 2,000sqm’ by the Association of Event Organisers.
Commercial Kitchen is one of only a few events to ever have been shortlisted by the AEO as a finalist in both these categories. Incidentally, the show’s organiser, Diversified Communications, also enjoyed the honour in 2014 for the Casual Dining Show that it produces.
The annual Excellence Awards are the exhibition industry’s ‘Oscars’, recognising the achievements of organisers, venues, suppliers and contractors. This year’s winners are to be announced at an awards ceremony at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, in London on 16 June.
The debut edition of Commercial Kitchen welcomed more than 1,700 attendees, including many of the biggest catering equipment purchasers and specifiers from across the foodservice sector.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be nominated for these prestigious awards, ahead of the show’s second edition next month. It really is a wonderful endorsement for the show,” said group event director Chris Brazier.
“It’s also a great recognition of the impact that Commercial Kitchen has made within the industry in just its first year.”
Commercial Kitchen returns to the NEC Birmingham on 6-7 June. Show features include a free two-day seminar programme, the Innovation Challenge Awards, and CEDA Awards Gallery.
