Development chef adds power to Panasonic’s UK business

Panasonic displayed a strong presence at this week’s Commercial Kitchen show following the appointment of its first ever business development chef to the team.

Tim Futter, who took on the role just a few weeks ago, was in Birmingham with sales and marketing director Iain Phillips to guide dealers and operators through its rapidly-growing product portfolio.

Futter’s brief is to focus on new and existing customers, offering support in menu and recipe development.

Having started his career in the patisserie and baking sections of a busy National Trust property, Futter has gone onto gain experience in pub and casual dining. Tim Futter 2

He will be tasked with supporting the Panasonic team with training, demonstrations for new customers, menu and recipe development for existing customers and product promotion.

“This is a very exciting time for Panasonic as we head towards our 100th anniversary next year,” said Phillips. “We have some fantastic new products to launch in the next 12-18 months that will broaden our reach, alongside the traditional microwave market. The time is right to recruit Tim into this role so that we can maintain our high levels of customer support as we increase our profile.”

Futter was on hand at Commercial Kitchen to demonstrate the SCV-2 Speed Convection Oven, a product that adds a new dimension to Panasonic’s existing range of commercial microwaves.

“It gives us the opportunity to offer an affordable solution to those seeking an oven with excellent build quality that will perform in a high throughput environment,” said Phillips.
