Center Parcs revolutionised the holiday market in the UK when it opened its first ‘Village’ at Sherwood Forest in July 1987, providing short break forest holidays on a year-round basis.
Now it boasts five complexes and welcomes more than two million guests a year. As group food and beverage/retail manager, Eddie McAdam leads a £125m F&B operation that has increased profits in the eight years he has been there and runs more than 75 food outlets across the estate, including partnerships with leading brands such as Café Rouge and Starbucks.
Center Parcs was bought by private equity firm Brookfield Property Partners last year and the new owners are confident that with average occupancy rates of 97%, the business is in a prime position to grow. F&B undoubtedly plays a key role in this mix.
Bella Italia and Las Iguanas are set to open at Longleat Forest, while a further Bella Italia restaurant and Gelato Café will be introduced at Sherwood Forest, reflecting the changing wants and needs of consumers.
“We are really excited to be welcoming the Bella and Las Iguanas brands and the new Gelato Café to Center Parcs,” says Eddie. “These brands will enable us to continue to deliver excellent dining experiences to Center Parcs’ guests.”
