ETM, the 12-strong bar and restaurant group, boosted its turnover by 17% to £22m in its last fiscal year, its latest financial results show.
The company also managed to grow EBITDA by 35% to £2.3m despite encountering what it called “tough trading conditions”.
The figures don’t take into account its post-Brexit performance, but founder Ed Martin, is confident the business is in good shape.
“We are extremely pleased with the group’s performance – despite tough trading conditions we have delivered positive like-for-like growth,” he said. “We are delighted to have strengthened our management team and will continue to improve our operation, especially in light of the strong headwinds facing the industry including business rates increases, living wage and food cost pressure.”
Martin had words of praise of The Botanist at Broadgate Circle, which has exceeded expectations and now serves more than 250,000 customers a month.
Two new sites recently opened at The Montcalm Hotel in Finsbury Square and at London’s newest rooftop bar and restaurant Aviary. Next month it will open ‘Greenwood’, an 11,000 square foot site located in the new Nova development in Victoria.
Further new site acquisitions and a number of refurbishments are planned for 2017.
