QualityFry’s automatic ventless fryers have been used in the UK branches of Spanish tapas chain Mas Q Menos for the past two years – but the brand is now aiming to build a presence in the British market by appointing official distribution partners.
The Madrid-based manufacturer believes it can offer something unique to UK operators as its fryers work without smoke, odours or mixing flavours.
Jorge Juan Martinez, export manager at the company, told FEJ that having grown its business in Spain during the past decade, it believes the technology it has fashioned is ideal for markets such as the UK, where catering outlets want a cleaner approach to frying.
“We think it is a good solution not only for businesses that don’t have a [extraction] hood but those that want to bring extra quality to the frying process because our products are 37% less oily than regular standard fryers. It is also a very easy machine to use.”
Mr Martinez claims that while there are other ventless automatic fryers on the market, QualityFry’s systems are different as the baskets inside them are completely enclosed. “We can guarantee that there are no smells and odours, and we can make two different products at the same time in the same oil. We are the only fryer in the market that can offer this,” he insists.
QualityFry has been trading for 12 years and its equipment is visible in the UK market through Mas Q Menos’ London sites. The chain brought them over from Spain when it expanded into the UK, but the brand now thinks it is the right time to step up its focus on the British market.
“We are looking for distributors in the UK that can manage the brand. In Spain we are working right now with multiple local distributors and that is going very well so our initial thoughts for the UK are to adopt the same model.”
QualityFry already has distributors in Scandinavia, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Australia.
Mr Martinez added that there are three different models in the range: the entry level 3.9kw unit and two 4.5kw systems.
