The ongoing growth of the UK foodservice and eating out sector is triggering unprecedented expansion among multi-site operators — and with that comes significant investment in new kitchens and catering production facilities.
To recognise this, Foodservice Equipment Journal is delighted to announce the launch of its inaugural ‘Power List’ — a celebration of individuals responsible for specifying, purchasing and sanctioning the kitchens that are so essential to the success of any foodservice operator’s offering.
The Power List is aimed at recognising the people at operator level who play a major part in shaping the way that the kitchens look and operate in their business.
This includes catering equipment buyers, operations managers, operations directors, heads of procurement, group executive chefs, development chefs or any other key decision-maker in the commercial kitchen buying process.
The Power List applies to individuals employed by any chain or ‘multi-site’ foodservice operator. For example, this includes high street restaurant chains, pub groups, hotel chains, fast food outlets, food-to-go operators, supermarket chains, retail operators, contract catering businesses and public sector authorities.
And the good news is that YOU can play a part in deciding which individuals are considered for inclusion on the FEJ Power List!

The FEJ Power List will be split into the following categories:

– Sector stars
– Kitchen innovators
– Chain champions
– Operations leaders
Commenting on the launch of the 2015 FEJ Power List, Foodservice Equipment Journal’s Group Editor, Andrew Seymour, said: “While we hear a lot about the extraordinary rate at which restaurant chains and multi-site operators are opening new sites, very little recognition is given to the individuals and teams responsible for making sure that the kitchens and back-of-house environments are ready and fully optimised for each and every launch. The FEJ Power List aims to shed a light on those responsible for some of the excellent work and innovation that goes on behind the scenes.
“Additionally, many chain operators are refurbishing existing estates, replenishing older kitchen equipment with more efficient technology and exploring new foodservice concepts that require them to embrace cutting-edge catering equipment. None of this could be achieved without the presence of highly-committed experts leading the operations, procurement and specification process. “
By opening up the nomination process to the industry, we are giving you a unique chance to highlight those individuals at operator level who are making their mark on the business.
Operators are free to nominate individuals from within their own businesses.
Catering equipment manufacturers and distributors are also invited to nominate individuals from the operator and restaurant community that they believe deserve to be considered for inclusion.
