FEM helps chefs withstand the heat of the kitchen

San Jamar has bolstered its offering for commercial kitchens by designing an oven and hot pad that can offer heat protection up to 232˚C.

Having the right equipment to protect staff is a major health and safety concern for restaurant chains, especially in kitchens where staff are exposed to high temperatures that could cause burns or scalding.

San Jamar’s EZ-Kleen oven mitt and hot pad for heat and steam protection, manufactured in the US, is being supplied into the UK market by partner FEM.

The San Jamar EZ-Kleen oven mitt and hot pad protect chefs from temperatures up to 232˚C for 15 seconds. The non-stick coated poly-cotton material is easy to wipe clean, making it ideal for busy kitchens and frequent use. Both feature a hanging loop for easy storage.

The EZ-Kleen oven mitt is available in two lengths – 384mm and 432mm, and is ‘one size fits most’. The mitt has a one-year warranty and costs £27.70 plus VAT.

The San Jamar EZ-Kleen Hot Pad is ideal for tasks that don’t require a full mitt. Like the glove, the pad protects up to 232˚C. The hot pad features an integrated wrist strap which improves dexterity. It is priced at £15.20 plus VAT.
