Filmore & Union, a seven outlet chain of healthy cafes in Yorkshire, is hoping to raise £500,000 via crowdfunding to finance expansion across the North of England.
The company has made its pitch on crowdfunding website Crowdcube, Europe’s largest network of angel investors backing British businesses.
The company is offering 10% of its equity share in return for the half a million pound investment.
By the first week of June, almost £118,000 had been raised.
Filmore & Union was launched in 2011 after identifying a gap in the health food market within the North of England and now operates from seven locations serving pure, natural and wholesome food both to eat in and take out.
Turnover in 2014 was £3.2 million.
The operator creates its food at a Central Production Unit to maintain consistent quality.
“We’re one of the fastest growing independent healthy eating companies in the North of England and we’re giving you the chance to become a part of Filmore & Union with investment opportunities from as little as £10,” the company says.
“Our goal is to raise £500,000 for a 10% equity share of the company which will help us expand the business throughout the North of England. We are offering both A and B shares. If you invest over £10,000 you will receive A shares which entitle you to full voting rights,” the prospectus explains.
If £10,000 is a little rich, micro-investments can be made instead for rewards such as free coffee and meals.
