Ex-Glen Dimplex salesman takes on new catering equipment role

Richard Brown, commercial business manager

Experienced catering equipment man Richard Brown has joined up with Catering Equipment Professional (CEP) in a role that will see him develop the company’s sales channel.

Mr Brown has been in the industry for more than 25 years, initially working on the hotel side of the business before moving into foodservice equipment distribution.

He has worked for Lockhart, Falcon, Dawson and most recently Glen Dimplex, which recently announced that it was exiting its commercial cooking and refrigeration lines to focus exclusively on water boilers.

CEP, which was bought by Pentland Wholesale in the summer, is a supplier of cooking, dishwashing and refrigeration equipment, including the Libero cooking line.

Mr Brown will take on the role of commercial business manager at CEP, working with its partners to develop the business and ensure the supply of products to the market.

He said: “It is great to be joining CEP at such an exciting time in their development. I look forward to building upon the strong foundations that have been put in place and working closely with existing and new strategic distributor partners.”

Although it is part of the Pentland portfolio, CEP continues to operate as a separate business with its own management team.
