Cardiff’s burgeoning restaurant scene is about to be joined by Gloucester-based Grillstock Smokehouse.
In addition to its two original locations, the chain has also opened restaurants in Bath, Walthamstow and Leicester, and is about to launch a branch in Liverpool.
Also well-known for its Grillstock Festivals in Bristol, Manchester and London, the chain’s mission is to take American BBQ to another level with music and atmosphere being as important as the food.
The Cardiff Grillstock will be in the former Pure Sport store on St Mary Street next to music and food venue Brewhouse and close to the Brewery Quarter, according to the Cardiff Restaurant Guide, which announced the news.
The Cardiff store caps a period of expansion for the chain. Grillstock’s Leicester site, its first restaurant in the Midlands, only opened last month.
