Head chef-turned-salesman will push Merrychef and Convotherm in the north

Welbilt has reinforced its team in Scotland and the North of England by hiring Paul Burrows as its new sales manager.

As well as working with Welbilt’s partners in the region to develop its business, he will also be tasked with developing relationships with new and existing end-users, focusing particularly on the Convotherm and Merrychef brands.

Mr Burrows boasts a wealth of industry experience, having served at Rational for two years as part of the Frima and Rational sales team. He was also head chef at a large Glasgow restaurant and established his own restaurant serving 40 covers.

Steve Hemsil, sales director – UK & Ireland at Welbilt, says Mr Burrows’ all-round experience within the foodservice sector and extensive culinary skills will make the transition to his new role easily.

He said: “It’s great to have Paul on board as he brings with him not only a great background in sales, but also extensive first-hand  experience within the kitchen which is hugely beneficial to Welbilt as we continue to focus on developing the culinary side of the business as well as continuing to support our dealers. We are really looking forward to having him in the role and we’d like wish him every success with us here at Welbilt.”

Mr Burrows’ appointment comes just two weeks after Welbilt announced a restructure of its marketing team in a move designed to help the business grow its sales and profitability in the UK and EMEA region.
