Hilton restaurant team prepare for Docklands opening

Columbia restaurant and bar is preparing to open following a multi-million pound renovation at DoubleTree by Hilton London Docklands Riverside.

On the site of the Rotherhithe shipping dock, Columbia draws inspiration from the site’s heritage whilst taking advantage of its riverside location.

Inside is a 700 square metre restaurant and bar complete with private dining spaces while outside The Terrace, overlooking the Thames and Canary Wharf, offers an a dedicated barbecue menu as well as a separate cigar terrace.

The property also benefits from a private pier with Columbia accessible by a complimentary cross-river shuttle ferry to and from the business and shopping district of Canary Wharf.

Executive Chef Vernon Strachan has created the restaurant’s modern British menu with global influences to reflect Columbia’s maritime theme.

Opening all day, seven days a week from 11am – 11pm, the menu will offer signature dishes including starters of Szechuan peppered squid and Devon crab on sourdough.

On the terrace, an outside kitchen offers a dedicated barbecue offering a choice of meat, fish and vegetarian skewers.

Columbia will also cater for events in the hotel’s Dry Dock, the only one in London, and will offer bespoke menus for private boat hire events direct from the hotel pier. It is set to open on 9 July.
