Hobart bids to persuade care homes to ditch domestic dishwashers

Hobart Care undercounter warewasher

Hobart has unveiled a new compact undercounter warewasher specifically designed for use in the care sector and which it claims can halve a site’s energy, water and detergent costs in just one day.

The company is positioning the machine as a viable professional option for care homes that currently use domestic or semi-commercial machines to handle kitchen wares.

Its ‘Hobart Care’ offering twins the simplicity of a household or semi-professional machine with the pure functionality of a commercial model, according to the manufacturer.

Patented technology means it can deal with up to 80 racks per day, thermally disinfecting soiled ware with 100°C steam to offer care sites complete peace of mind.

The compact (H x 820mm / W x 600mm / D x 600mm) undercounter machine is 90% faster than a household model, using 80% less water and 65% less than its semi-professional counterpart.

Hobart’s innovative washing and drying technology also means that energy and detergent costs fall by 50% with just one day’s usage.

Tim Bender, sales director – Hobart Warewashing UK, said: “Warewashing in the care sector is subject to a host of special requirements and this new machine has been designed specifically to help sites meet those challenges head-on. The footprint and ease of use mirror that of a household model, yet the sheer performance trumps anything else available in the sector.”
