Irish café chain seeks finance to replace ageing ovens

Ireland’s largest natural whole foods specialist is seeking investment to refurbish the kitchens of four cafes that it operates in Dublin.

The company has turned to peer-to-peer financing platform Grid Finance in a bid to raise €55,000 (£40,000), which it intends to use to buy new ovens.

KC Peaches uses a large number of ovens and stove tops to bake, roast and sauté the food that it cooks daily across its sites, but admits its current ovens are “at the end of their livelihood”.

The doubling of the size of its business over the past 18 months has also increased the need for new kitchen equipment and additional oven space.

The company said that if it can raise the cash it will make a “huge difference” to its kitchen team. “The finance will be used to enable KC Peaches to maximise our kitchen space and produce enough food to serve our catering and cafe clientele,” it said.

So far the company has raised less than 10% of the amount it is seeking, but there are still 20 days left for investors to back the project.
