Lockhart parent buys Norwegian catering equipment firm

Bunzl plc, parent of Lockhart Catering Equipment, has announced it has acquired its first business in Norway.

The specialist international distribution and services group has bought Enor AS, a supplier of light catering equipment.

Enor AS is based in Oslo and operates over 11 locations through the country, supplying to a variety of clients including hotels, restaurants, hospitals, municipalities, contract caterers and fast food chains.

Revenue for the company in the year ended 31 December 2017 was around £27m, after conversion from Norweigen Krone.

Frank van Zanten, chief executive of Bunzl, said: “The acquisition of the Enor group is an exciting development for Bunzl as it represents our first acquisition in Norway and means that we now have operations in 31 countries globally.”

He added: “The business has a leading position in the catering equipment market and further extends our business in Scandinavia where we already have a strong presence in Denmark.  We are pleased to welcome their employees to the group.”

This announcement shows the firm’s continued ambition to expand globally, coming just over a year after Bunzl entered the French catering equipment market.
