Electrolux Professional revealed today that it enhancing its exclusive delivery offering so that customers can obtain new catering equipment within 24 hours of ordering.
The move follows on from the launch of Electrolux Express in 2014, which saw the brand commit to supplying its most popular products within 48 hours through an improved stockholding arrangement.
Electrolux has now managed to reduce delivery times by half in order to supply a specially selected range of equipment directly targeted at the replacement market just one day after an order has been placed via one of its authorised distributors.
The brand believes its ‘24 to the door’ offer will help reduce kitchen downtime after research showed that the wait for kitchen equipment had a damaging effect on more than 40% chefs’ businesses.
Darren Lockley, head of region for UK and Ireland at Electrolux Professional, said: “Commercial catering equipment downtime has the potential to cripple a kitchen team during a busy service, so we have taken it upon ourselves to ensure the delivery of a variety of kitchen equipment right to our customers’ door, just 24 hours after we have received their order from our distributor network.”
The Electrolux Express range features dynamic preparation, refrigeration, and dishwashing equipment, including the company’s recently-launched E-Flex glass washer.
Lockley continued: “Our recent industry survey examining the state of the catering equipment replacement market found dynamic preparation, refrigeration, and dishwashing equipment to be amongst the most commonly replaced equipment over the last 12 months. As such we have decided to focus our ‘24 to the door’ initiative around these key equipment areas in order to reassure our foodservice customers that if an emergency does occur, Electrolux Professional will be at hand to provide a fast replacement and keep any disruption to an absolute minimum.”
Orders must be received before 11am to qualify for 24-hour delivery times, Electrolux said.
