McDonald’s has added to its UK executive management team with the appointment of a new ‘senior vice president, people’ to oversee its 100,000-strong workforce.
Claire Hall, formerly the HR director at British Gas, joined earlier this month to lead the fast food chain on customer service, recruitment, training and the education programmes including its apprenticeship scheme.
Her appointment follows the departure of Jez Langhorn, who after 31 years with McDonald’s UK has moved to Chicago to join McDonald’s US, leading the people team supporting the company’s owned restaurants.
Prior to working for British Gas, Hall gained her experience from HR roles in the retail sector with organisations such as Boots and Tesco.
McDonald’s UK CEO, Paul Pomroy, said: “As one of the UK’s biggest private sector employers, our People Team works hard to support our employees and Claire’s extensive experience will be an invaluable addition to the team.
“It’s a busy and exciting time to be joining McDonald’s in the UK and I look forward to Claire joining our UK Leadership Team and working with her in the coming months.”
