McDonald’s Restaurants UK has been named the ‘most admired’ company in the UK restaurant and pub sector. The accolade was given out at Britain’s Most Admired Companies (BMAC) awards, which is hosted by Management Today.
In addition to coming top of their sector, McDonald’s Restaurants UK climbed 32 places to number 10 this year in the overall BMAC rankings. The company, which opened its first UK restaurant in 1974, was praised for its financial soundness as well as its ability to attract, develop and retain top talent.
Take away and delivery service Domino’s Pizza came second in the restaurants and pubs sector, and was rated highly for its quality of marketing and its value as a long term investment. British pub chain JD Wetherspoon came in third place.
The list of most admired companies is created by asking Britain’s largest public companies to evaluate their peers. They score their sector rivals on a range of business-related criteria.
