M&M Bowness is set to spend £300,000 transforming a lakeside restaurant in Cumbria into a contemporary gastropub.

Sutherlands, a family restaurant overlooking Lake Windermere will join the growing roster of M&M Bowness properties in the area, which already includes the Howbeck guesthouse in Windermere and Caffe Riva in Bowness.

Sutherlands will close for refurbishment before reopening in 2016.

Colin Monk, director M&M Bowness Ltd, told local news outlet In Cumbria: “The acquisition of the lease of Sutherlands is an exciting prospect for us as we continue to expand in the region.”
