Coffee shop and bakery chain Mokoko has opened its third site in Bristol’s new Wrapping Wharf development.
Owned by Jake Harris, the site on the gaol ferry steps in Bristol’s harbour, opened on 1 June following the success of his two coffee houses in Bath which have been trading for five years.
The new Bristol operation is substantially larger than the previous shops. Comprising of two units split roughly into thirds the outlet features a narrow seating area with large overhanging lamps, an open kitchen where customers can view all dishes being created from scratch and a service area.
The shop has colourful tiles and wooden furniture designed to give it a modern feel and has both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
Jake Harris, said: “We chose Bristol as it is in close proximity to where we already operate and the Wapping Wharf development supports small businesses like ourselves.”
Mokoko’s staff includes Dale Ingram, head pastry chef and baker with over 40 years’ experience and Jordan Keen, a highly skilled barista.
Mokoko has installed Mono equipment at the new shop including Harmony Modular Deck Oven, Spiral and Planetary Mixers and a Williams’ Crystal Prover and Retarder Prover.
The floor-standing planetary mixer has a small footprint making it ideal for use in premises where space is at a premium.
Harris, said: “Mono Equipment was my ultimate choice of suppliers as they are based in the United Kingdom and all their products are British made as well as them having a reputation for supplying high quality, reliable equipment.
“I was extremely pleased with the quality and level of service I received from the outset from Mono Equipment and sales executive, Christian Trubey, was always on hand to discuss any question I had.”
