Hales Events, first-time organisers of this year’s Hospitality & Catering show, has announced plans to rebrand the trade event as the Hotel Catering & Retail Show for 2017.
The event will continue to cater for the business needs of hospitality buyers in addition to welcoming retail buyers looking for speciality food and drink for their outlets.
The organisers believe that the mix of retail and hospitality suppliers will create a vibrant and fertile trading environment, as the Source trade show they currently manage has been successfully proving since 2008.
MD of Hales Events, Mike Anderson, said: “We really enjoyed our first year and have lots of ideas to expand and develop the show so that it meets the future needs of buyers in the ever developing food and drink market.”
The 2016 show featured hospitality talks and a demonstration kitchen. There was also a mixology bar run by Nectar Imports which hosted the UKBG Market Challenge 2016 for barman apprentices and bartending legends, won by Eliiot Rusbridge from Bournemouth College and Dave Hall from Urban Beach respectively. These items will all remain in the 2017 show and there are plans to develop and expand the demonstration kitchen. With both students and professionals taking part in the competitions and displaying their talents in the kitchen, the show is an ideal platform for new talent to learn from more established names and get inspired.
Peter Boraston, Barnaby’s, said: “Good to find such a comprehensive show close by. Impressed by the quality of the exhibitors and found some good leads, some of which have translated into orders to take our business to a new level.”
Planning for next year’s show is underway and will take place on Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th March 2017.
