Financial results published by Nisbets reveal that the catering equipment supplier banked a trading profit of £31.2m last year, a 9% improvement on the previous 12 months.
The Bristol-based outfit, which earlier this month announced the takeover of Space Catering, said the healthy profit came off the back of a strong year of sales growth.
Turnover for 2015 reached a record-breaking £255m for the firm, marking a 13% improvement on the previous 12 months as its multi-channel strategy of selling though direct mail, online and retail paid off.
Tim Carr, finance director at Nisbets, said the level of sales it did last year was a “milestone” for the business.
“We continue to build on Nisbets market leading position and are delighted to have broken the quarter of a billion turnover barrier for the first time. This is a significant achievement and one of which we are all extremely proud.”
He added: “The directors are pleased with the overall financial performance during the year and believe that Nisbets PLC is in a strong position to sustain growth and expand its market share.”
Nisbets currently operates in seven countries worldwide, including the UK, France, Spain and Australia and now employs more than 1,200 people.
As well as having a substantial catalogue and online business, Nisbets has 16 retail stores across the UK.
