Foodservice equipment manufacturer Nuttall’s has invested more than £250,000 in a new innovation centre designed to help operators develop standout food-to-go concepts.
The 2,800 square foot facility at the company’s premises in Leicestershire boasts an in-house culinary team delivering services around food processes, cooking and preparation, packaging and display.
The centre includes a development kitchen, meeting and conference facilities and innovation display area including hot food-to-go kitchen.
Nuttall’s hopes to attract buyers from coffee shops, convenience stores, sandwich shops, casual dining restaurants, quick serve operations and other food retailers to the site.
It already supplies food display equipment, merchandising solutions and counter systems to chains such as Cafe Rouge, Costa, Sainsbury’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, Asda, Pret a Manger, Greggs, Crussh, Pizza Hut and Wyevale Garden Centre.
Development chef, Warwick Wakefield, said: “This is an attractive proposition for operators as it requires less overhead to manage the offer. Competition is tough, though, and operators have to stay ahead of the game, delivering ongoing innovation to meet growing consumer expectations.”
The facility has a variety of cooking equipment from traditional commercial kitchen appliances to the latest convection, regeneration and microwave with a wide variety of oven brands. As well as equipment, its expertise stretches to sourcing the best ingredients and choosing the right packaging.
