POWER LIST 2017, CHAIN CHAMPIONS: Emma Deabill, Operations Manager, Yo! Sushi

After conducting a major strategic review of its business last year, YO! Sushi has gone from strength to strength in the UK market, with changes to the way in which restaurants are marketed, designed and operated helping to swell its turnover to £88m.

The company is the master of estate management, knowing when to dispose of older sites and capitalise on lease premiums from planned exits in key locations such as Central London. Emma Deabill portrait

With the portfolio now numbering around 80 stores, YO! Sushi is thankful for a competent operations team that knows just what it takes to ensure its Japanese Kaiten conveyor belt restaurants perform to their full potential.

Emma Deabill is part of this team, ensuring new concepts are effectively rolled out and the company’s stores are fully equipped to the standards expected.

Recent highlights include a major refurbishment of its Cardiff St. David’s store, where there was an emphasis on new technology, and the planned launch of a London flagship restaurant on Tottenham Court Road featuring its new format and branding.

Emma’s endeavours were recently recognised when she was named as a finalist in the ALMR Operations Managers Awards, joining an illustrious list of names in contention for the accolade.
