A quarter of The Restaurant Group’s sites now offer delivery from its kitchens following a concerted effort to drive this part of its business in the last 12 months.
The company, which owns Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito and Coast to Coast, plans to expand the percentage of its 500 restaurants that provide delivery, and even intends to roll out a new delivery-only brand this year.
TRG has built its delivery strategy around Deliveroo so far, growing the number of sites that offer this service from 37 at the start of 2017 to 130 in February 2018.
It is currently trialling delivery services with UberEats and Just Eat, which it expects will further increase its delivery reach and penetration moving forward.
In addition, the company sees opportunities to extend brand reach by offering multiple delivery brands from an individual restaurant and revealed it will trial a new delivery-only brand in the coming weeks.
Delivery is understood to generate a very small proportion of The Restaurant Group’s £670m annual sales, but the London-listed firm will anticipate the figure to increase significantly as more of its sites agree delivery distribution deals.
