Combi oven manufacturer Retigo is ramping up its activities heading into 2017 with the appointment of a new UK commercial manager.
Phil Smith will join the company on 3 January and have responsibility for Retigo’s sales operations in the UK market.
“Phil is a highly motivated individual with over 25 years’ experience in the hospitality and foodservice industry, including experience of running his own catering establishment,” the company said. “Phil is commercially aware, innovative and has a proven track record in the catering equipment sector having worked for two of the big names in the sector.”
Smith will be supported by six Retigo training and demo chefs covering the UK, as well as its UK non-executive director Radford Chancellor.
One of Smith’s first tasks will be to ready the company for the release of its new Vision 2 combi oven, which it believes will lead the way in terms of features, benefits, ecological performance and cooking results.
Retigo has had a busy 12 months in the UK market. It appointed Chancellor as non-executive director for three years in the spring and then followed that up by hiring a number of dedicated service partners, widened its distribution network and increased its spare parts availability to its highest level ever for the UK market.
It has also set up ‘Retigo Demonstration Kitchen’ sites in London, Bristol, West Midlands, Manchester, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, where Retigo chefs are demonstrating its equipment on a weekly basis.
Retigo’s national account customers include Virgin Trains, Nespresso and Barclays.
