Most buyers will know it from the chunky catalogues that land on their desks, but catering equipment supplier Nisbets is increasingly popping up on high streets around the country.
While its rivals in the catering supplies sector have directed their focus towards web sales, telesales and field sales — all channels that Nisbets operates as well — the Bristol-based supplier is also opening up a string of retail shops.
Less than three years ago the company operated just two stores — one at its HQ in Bristol and another in London from the acquisition of Pages — but it now stands on the verge of opening showroom number eight.
Nisbets has just secured a site down in Brighton that will give the company its first presence on the south coast.
The 4,000 square foot site on the city’s London Road will allow buyers to walk in and purchase more than 2,500 products. It will also offer a ‘Call, Pay & Collect Service’, meaning customers can order over the phone, and then collect in store, usually within one hour.
The Brighton store comes just a few months after Nisbets opened its first showroom in Manchester. It also has two other sites in London as well as stores in Birmingham, Leeds.
Nisbets’ retail strategy is being headed by Steve Collins, who said the ongoing store expansion was a reflection of buyers wanting to “see and feel” the products they intend to purchase.
