Special one-off allergen seminar will give crucial advice for commercial kitchens

CESA will host an Allergen Awareness Seminar in the build-up to Hotelympia, it confirmed this morning.

The seminar will be run by Julian Edwards, director of foodservice consultancy GY5 and chair of the FCSI, who specialises in allergen awareness and compliance for food and drink businesses. It will bring attendees up to speed with the latest advice on allergen safety. After the event Edwards will be available to answer questions.

The Hotelympia Allergen Awareness Seminar will take place at CESA’s offices on Monday 12 February, from 9.30am to 4pm, and costs £195 per person, plus VAT.

The Allergen Awareness Seminar is part of an ongoing allergen training strand being developed by CESA.

“Knowledge of the issue is increasingly important for anyone involved in selling equipment,” said Glenn Roberts, chair of CESA. “At the same time, a considerable number of CESA members are developing and supplying products designed to help operators deal with allergen safety by preventing cross-contamination. The training will be aimed at both suppliers and operators.”

CESA is a key supporter of Allergen Accreditation’s allergen aware month, during January 2018.  The Association’s allergen training has been developed in conjunction with the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
