Steak knife specialist Tramontina is looking to bend the ear of the nation’s pizza chains with a new knife created specifically for the pizza industry.
The Brazilian manufacturer, which distributes its products in the UK through tableware supplier Artis, aims to bring greater functionality to the pizza business with a specially designed curved serrated blade, which cuts, rather than tears the dough.
The brand has drawn upon the know-how and workmanship that goes into its flagship steak knives to create a range that is offered in a choice of red or black polywood handles.
The knives, which are dishwasher safe, are finely balanced to be ergonomically comfortable in the hand and really make a statement at the table, according to Tramontina.
One of the most striking aspects of the knives is a cut-out of the word ‘pizza’ in the blade.
The knives are packed in cartons of 12 and have a list price of £3.05 each. However, until 31 May, Artis is offering a special 25% introductory discount, bringing the price down to just £2.29 per unit.
