BRITA Professional has become a Sustainable Restaurant Association ‘Food Made Good’ Supplier, providing an endorsement of its all-round commitment to sustainability.
The approved status allows BRITA Professional to carry the Sustainable Restaurant Association’s Food Made Good stamp, meaning that accredited operators have peace of mind that BRITA Professional products and services will help them meet sustainable and ethical objectives.
Agatha Ioannou, supplier and finance manager at the Sustainable Restaurant Association, says: “We’re delighted that BRITA Professional has become our latest Food Made Good supplier. BRITA Professional was successfully audited against 14 key areas across the three pillars of sustainability – sourcing, environment and society. Our approval logo is recognised industry-wide and our members are put at ease knowing they will only be recommended with the very best suppliers already vetted and rated by our in-house experts.”
Miles Dawson, sales director at BRITA Professional (pictured), insists that sustainability is at the heart of everything it does. “We have a comprehensive recycling programme for exhausted filters, which are 100% recyclable – and we’re proud that zero waste goes to landfill in the UK. In 2014, BRITA UK was certified for achieving zero waste to landfill and awarded the National Recycling Star in Gold. The company built on this recognition in 2015 on receiving the award for Sustainable Supplier of the year at the 2015 Footprint Awards.
Members of The Sustainable Restaurant Association not only include restaurants but cafes, pubs, universities, cookery schools, airlines and contract caterers.
