Cocktail and restaurant bar The Alchemist is to open a site in Manchester’s MediaCityUK that will feature a gold-clad roof as part of its design. The move follows launches in Liverpool, Birmingham and Alderley Edge already this year.
The purpose-built venue will be located adjacent to the expansive waterfront and will have floor to ceiling glazing windows offering views across the whole site, including the new home for ITV’s Coronation Street.
Simon Potts, managing director of The Alchemist, which is part of the Living Ventures group, said: “I’m delighted that The Alchemist will be opening in MediaCityUK and hugely excited to be creating a bespoke venue from the ground up which will reflect the vibrancy and innovation for which MediaCityUK has become renowned”.
Stephen Wild, managing director, MediaCityUK said: “The Alchemist quickly made its mark in Manchester and is distinguished for its stylish yet inviting interiors, creative mixologists and varied food menu – so we are delighted they’ll be expanding their brand here at MediaCityUK. The community here is constantly evolving and it’s vital to have a diverse, high quality offering of bars and restaurants”.
Designed by Manchester based Reid Architects the building is 450 square metres/4,850 square feet seating 100 dining covers, 45 seated bar covers and 65 terrace covers offering the business community, students, residents and visitors another impressive place in which to eat and drink.
