The Wildwood restaurant chain is planning its first ever restaurant in Wales in a move that will create 30 jobs.
The Mediterranean style-chain, which also has small cinemas at its premises, currently operates more than 30 restaurants in England, the majority of which are based in London and the South East.
But it now wants to expand the brand to North Wales and has submitted an application for Mostyn Street in Llandudno, according to the Daily Post. Wildwood is backed by brothers Adam and Sam Kaye who created the ASK and Zizzi restaurant brands.
A planning statement from agent, Brown, said: “This will be the first restaurant Wildwood have in Wales, so it is special to them, and the two owners actively take an interest in each of their premises. Wildwood restaurants have a reputation for a high quality standards of fixtures and fittings with each restaurant being slightly different from the last.”
The report said the site would have a capacity for more than 140 diners. An application has been lodged with Conwy Council to change its current usage from a shop to a restaurant.
