£3k worth of kit up for grabs in search for BBQ champion

RH Hall BBQ competition

Operators are being given the chance to win a £3,000 piece of catering equipment as part of a competition to find the UK’s best commercial BBQ champion.

To stand a chance of walking away with a state-of-the-art Crown Verity BBQ system, entrants simply need to come up with a starter, main and dessert that incorporates a Lion sauce and can be prepared on a BBQ.

The menus that make the shortlist will be invited to take part in a live cooking final at Mentmore Golf and Country Club, where the race will be on to find the UK’s top BBQ chef.

The event is organised and hosted by catering equipment supplier RH Hall, which runs the competition every year.

As well as the Crown Verity BBQ, entrants can also win thousands of pounds of other prizes.

Those keen to get in on the act need to be quick, however, as the deadline for entry closes this Wednesday, 1 April.

The final will take place on Wednesday 20 May, when the finalists will battle against one another to produce their three courses within a one-hour time frame.

BBQ professional Ben Bartlett, winner of the World Championships and Britain’s Best BBQer will be chairman of the judging panel.

Operators can submit their entries here.
