3M tackles water quality for cafes and restaurants

ScaleGard HP Reverse Osmosis System

3M claims restaurants can look forward to higher quality water faster after unveiling its latest ScaleGard HP Reverse Osmosis System.

The company says the equipment provides “three times greater” Reverse Osmosis (RO) capacity than previous generations, delivering a faster supply of recipe quality water with proven reliability.

The new high-production RO filter at the heart of the latest system produces up to 2.5 litres of RO water per minute. A pre-filter for chlorine/chloramines reduction is also included, and the option to add extra filters allows RO production to be doubled if required.

The system also allows the user to adjust blending levels to optimise the mineral content of the product water for consistent taste and scale reduction and can be wall mounted.

According to 3M, the ScaleGard HP Reverse Osmosis system enables busy cafés and restaurants to increase throughput of hot drinks and cold beverages, ice and steam. Effective filtration minimises limescale build-up, thereby maintaining the condition and efficiency of equipment such as pipes and heaters while reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

3M claims the key to the enhanced performance of ScaleGard HP Reverse Osmosis System lies in 3M high-production RO membrane. It says this double-sided membrane with microscopic pores achieves significantly greater recovery than traditional RO systems.
