British refrigeration manufacturer Adande will this week officially collect two awards recognising the innovation of its equipment in the Asian market.
The Suffolk-based manufacturer’s Matchbox refrigerated drawer with hydrocarbon finished top in the ‘heavy duty catering equipment’ category of the first ever Asian Catering Equipment Awards, as well as taking the overall ‘best of the best’ prize.
Judges, including top chefs and senior members of the FCSI, agreed that the drawer led the way in terms of overall design and innovation.
Adande received news of its win last month, but the actual ceremony to mark the awards is taking place at HOFEX 2015, which kicked off yesterday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and runs until Saturday.
The Asian Catering Equipment Awards aim to recognise manufacturers and designers of foodservice equipment who have innovatively improved the efficiency and success of restaurant kitchens, along with the profitability of the restaurant itself and reduced negative impact on the planet.
Some other familiar names from the catering equipment industry were also victorious in the awards.
Testo’s Saveris monitoring system secured the ‘light labour saving’ award, Granuldisk’s Smart EcoExchanger won the ‘heavy water/energy saving’ category, MKN’s FlexiCombi grabbed the ‘heavy labour saving’ accolade and Hobart’s latest flight-type dishwasher triumphed in the ‘heavy sustainable equipment’ category.
