Adventys has shaken up its route-to-market strategy in the UK by appointing Certa Cooking Equipment to distribute its range of induction.
The agreement, which came into force on 1 July, will see Certa supplying the full range of the French brand’s equipment, with more than 60 items in total, including table-top and heavy duty cooking, buffet solutions, bespoke suites and drop-in induction units.
Adventys export manager, Mathilde Perot, explained: “We were really impressed by the knowledge of the UK equipment sector demonstrated by the team at Certa Cooking Equipment. We feel that the Adventys brand will be in safe hands and that it is ideally positioned to build on the success of the brand in the UK.”
Adventys has been well-represented in the UK since 2013 through Milton Keynes-based supplier Grande Cuisine. Previously it sold the full range of the brand’s equipment, but will now concentrate purely on the manufacturer’s tabletop, plug and play products.
Grande Cuisine director, Steve Hobbs, commented: “The purpose of engaging with Certa is to present 100% of the Adventys portfolio to the UK market and we fully understand this wish, approach and desire for Adventys to build on its strong business base which we have helped establish over the last five years or so in the UK. We have enjoyed a very successful and mutually beneficial partnership with Adventys.
“However, the two businesses have different objectives and strategy plans and the decision reached gives both parties the opportunity to develop and grow. We leave the brand able to build its UK business based on the solid foundations that we have created and will of course honour all outstanding orders, as well as supporting the installation of products already sold in the UK.”
Certa Cooking Equipment’s sister division, Certa Service, will also be available to help existing Adventys customers.
Certa Cooking Equipment director, Dan Loria, said: “Certa Service will be glad to support any existing warranties that are out in the marketplace with Adventys’ full support to ensure a smooth transition.”
Mr Loria said that Adventys fits nicely with its existing cooking portfolio, which includes Eloma, OEM and Aurea, and that customers would benefit from additional UK stockholding.
