Artisan bakery chain builds up a head of steam

Muffin Break Birmingham

Artisan bakery Muffin Break has continued the expansion of its offering in the UK with the opening of its 59th store, in a brand new shopping centre in Newport.

The new store opens its doors tomorrow at the recently opened Friars Walk Shopping Centre and will create 18 new jobs in the area. The café bakery will have a rustic, yet modern interior which is designed to seat around 82 people.

Muffin Break’s recently launched ‘Grab and Go’ counter will also be available at the new café bakery, where nutritious on-the-go snacks can be purchased for busy customers to take out with them.

General Manager, Lisa Brook, said: “We are delighted to be opening a store in this exciting new development in Newport – it is yet another example of our drive for growth for the brand. Muffin Break continues to deliver significant growth, even through tough periods for retail, and we have several new stores due to open before the end of the financial year, including two in December. 2016 will definitely be an exciting year for us.”

Muffin Break is part of a growing series of franchisee and company-owned artisan bakery cafes, which bake a wide range of fresh food options on site daily, all made from fresh ingredients.

Muffin Break Newport will be serving favourite food options from its menu, such as sandwiches, wraps, paninis, baguettes and a sweet selection. The store will also have a range of cold drinks available as well as its bespoke coffee blend, which is made from 100% Arabica beans.

Originating in Australia, there are more than 250 Muffin Break locations worldwide, with almost 60 stores located in the UK. Each café is locally owned and operated.
