Catering equipment supplier Baron has notified partners that most items in its catalogue will rise by approximately 3% in 2019, although some – including refrigeration and dishwashing – are set to reduce in price.
With distributors and consultants approaching a time of year when they are budgeting for products and projects beyond January 1, Baron said that it would be shortly issuing new prices for all its equipment, including combi ovens, refrigeration, dishwashing, fabrication, blast chillers and cold rooms.
Prices for its new ‘Queen’ modular and one-piece-top equipment are due at the end of the month.
Queen products will be priced depending on the technology content of the design, but for any previously quoted cooklines priced in the last quarter of 2018 the company has pledged to try and hold prices.
New price lists will be issued ahead of the New Year, the company said.
Operators and distributors are currently waiting to hear if manufacturers plan to increase prices in 2019. Some brands have already alerted customers to expect rises of between 3% and 6%.
The issue of pricing takes on added significance at the moment as some experts predict the market faces the prospect of sudden hikes midway through next year depending on the outcome of Brexit negotiations.
