French restaurant group Bistrot Pierre has secured a site for its 17th outlet in the up-and-coming town of Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield. Doors will open in early 2017.
This month, the chain opens its 16th unit in Weston-super-Mare on September 9, it will be the second ribbon cutting following hot the heals of a bistro opening in Birmingham in July.
Bistrot Pierre will open in Sutton Coldfield’s Mulberry Walk, a £20 million leisure and retail development.
The restaurant will be created on the same lines as a Bistrot Pierre in Newport, which has become one of the group’s most successful bistros since opening in November 2015.
Rob Beacham, co-owner of Bistrot Pierre said that the group was incredibly busy with new openings across the UK and confirming the newest estate in Mere Green highlighted the group’s rapid expansion in the last eight months.
“The opportunity to open another bistro in Mulberry Walk was an opportunity too good to miss,” said Mr Beacham.
“The bistrot will be a welcome addition to our growing portfolio across the UK as Mere Green benefits from major regeneration and is in a sought-after location; I’m confident it will be a popular choice for locals when it opens in early 2017.
“Next month we’ll be opening one of our largest bistrots in Weston-super-Mare, where major regeneration is boosting the food and drink scene and the tourism trade is thriving.”
Well-known food outlets such as Prezzo and Café Nero have already signed up to be part of Mulberry Walk alongside national retailers Boots and Marks and Spencer.
Bistrot Pierre received investment of £9.8 million last year, which has allowed it to accelerate a UK-wide roll out that now includes Altrincham in November, Sutton Coldfield in February next year and Swansea in the Spring of 2017.
