Brita sales chief gives back to coffee supply chain

Miles Dawson, sales director

The sales director of Brita Professional’s UK division has been appointed to the independent Board of Trustees of charity Allegra Foundation.

Miles Dawson, who oversees the company’s commercial business in the UK, will lend his industry experience to the organisation as it looks to achieve a number of key goals.

The charity runs an initiative called Project Waterfall, which provides clean water to coffee-growing communities, allowing the UK coffee market to give something back.

Together with the Board of Trustees, Dawson will oversee the work of Project Waterfall, ensuring that all donated funds are fully protected and used efficiently.

He said the funds raised go straight to water and sanitation projects. “90% of coffee comes from third world countries where over 60% of people lack access to safe water, so Project Waterfall is an extremely important initiative.”

Brita says its involvement with Project Waterfall demonstrates the company’s commitment to the cause.

“As a company we’re passionate about giving something back and Project Waterfall is a great synergy with our brand. To be a Trustee is a great honour and an opportunity to work closely with the coffee growing communities that keep our coffee industry alive,” added Dawson.
