Cambridge on the cards for Nisbets as retail empire grows

Nisbets retail shelves

Catering equipment supplier Nisbets confirmed this morning that Cambridge will be the next port of call for its rapidly-expanding retail empire.

The company will open a branch in the university city next month, taking the total number of retail units it operates to 15. Eight of them have come this year, including stores in Glasgow and Southampton earlier this month.

Doors to the Cambridge shop will open at 9am on Monday 14 December, when local catering professionals will be able to browse more than 2,500 best-selling products.

The store will be packed with everything from chef knives and clothing to furniture and refrigeration from brands such as Buffalo, Vogue and Polar.

Nisbets’ head of retail, Steve Collins, said: “Feedback from our customers indicates that they like to have the opportunity to see and feel the products, which is why having a retail presence in a vibrant hospitality area such as Cambridge is key to continuing our excellent levels of service.”

Easily accessible, caterers requiring equipment immediately can also take advantage of the ‘Call, Pay & Collect Service’, meaning they can order over the phone and then collect in store, usually within one hour.

Nisbets launched as a catalogue only business in 1983, but has since grown to develop a strong online presence in addition to a portfolio of retail stores across the UK.
