Restaurant group Carluccio’s announced it will be supporting NHS staff on the frontline of the fight against coronavirus with a 50% discount on food and drink in its restaurants and via takeaway.
The offer also includes products from its delis, such as pasta, sauces, rice, biscuits and gifts.
Mark Jones, CEO of Carluccio’s, said: “We are all being hit hard by the current crisis, and our thoughts go out to the incredible NHS staff who are on the frontline, working day and night to save lives and help the vulnerable.
“There is no end date for this crisis and, as such, we will be offering all NHS workers a 50% discount for the foreseeable future. We hope that this small gesture can bring a little comfort to our unsung heroes.”
Carluccio’s remains open and is following WHO and NHS guidance to ensure the health and safety of our team and guests during this uncertain time.
Extremely stringent cleaning procedures are being implemented with hand washing at regular intervals, sanitisation of all table settings after every visit and social distancing.
It is also offering delivery to many areas of the country via Deliveroo.
A number of high street chains have pledged support to NHS staff as they work through the crisis.
Healthy eating chain Leon said it will give 50% off for all care workers with ID and free coffee for all retail and hospitality workers. It is also offering free kids meals to children and free delivery on UberEats and DoorDash.
Meanwhile, Pret A Manger – which last night said it was now operating mainly as a takeaway business due to the closure of seating areas – is offering all NHS workers free hot drinks and 50% off everything else.
